Serving God

At Church of the Redeemer, serving God is lived out through many hands and willing hearts. Our variety of ministries provide opportunities to serve through worship, fellowship, music, care for others, and outreach. Each plays a unique role in supporting our church’s life together and sharing Christ’s love within our congregation and the wider community.

  • Women of Redeemer (WOR): The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is the official women’s auxiliary of Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). Its mission statement is to assist each LCMS woman in affirming her relationship with the triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world. WOR is the local entity, composed of communicant female members of Redeemer. We have meetings and fellowship activities throughout the year, including a Secret Sister Tea. We usually have one large event a year to raise the money for our local mission projects, typically a very successful fall German Meal. We collect mites- which was a Jewish coin and the smallest used in New Testament time- on the second Sunday of each month; these mites are sent to the FL-GA District LWML for district and national mission projects. All ladies are invited to attend any of our events. Watch for events in the Parch Notes in the Sunday bulletin.
  • Altar Guild: The Altar Guild is a group of women who are responsible for preparing the altar, pulpit, and lectern for church services. This includes changing the altar paraments to the correct color for the church year, setting up communion each Sunday, cleaning up the altar, and setting up for any baptisms. One or two volunteers sign up to serve each month; newer members are paired with those who have more experience.
  • Bell Choir: Redeemer’s Bell Choir plays for special occasions, adding joyful music to our worship. Led by our organist, John Manseau, the choir welcomes participants for select services throughout the year. Check the Sunday bulletin or Seed of Life for upcoming performance and practice times.
  • Worship Choir: Redeemer’s Church Choir lends its voice to worship on significant occasions throughout the liturgical year. Their music enriches special services and celebrations, offering praise and beauty to the glory of God. Check the Sunday bulletin or Seed of Life for upcoming schedules and rehearsal times.
  • Faith In Action: All congregation members are part of Faith in Action which shares Christ’s love through service—providing meals for homebound members, those facing illness, and grieving families. As well as community outreach like disaster relief, knitted hats for cancer patients and preemies, facilitation of food and school supply drives, and support for foster and adoptive families through The Village Foster and Adoptive Ministry.
  • American Heritage Girls (AHG): Church of the Redeemer proudly sponsors an American Heritage Girls (AHG) troop for girls ages 5 to 18. The AHG program encourages girls to grow in faith, cultivate a heart for service, and develop strong character—all while having fun and building lasting friendships. Our troop includes approximately 32 girls and regularly participates in activities that involve and serve the Redeemer congregation.
