What We Believe

We at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer are a Christian congregation who strive to be faithful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at all times. As such we hold all of the 66 books of the Holy Bible to be the inspired and inerrant word of God. This means that we believe, what we confess, and how we live by faith does not change with time, but instead the church of God is to remain steadfast in accord with the Word of God found in the Holy Bible. Lutheran Church of the Redeemer also confesses the Lutheran Confessions to be the proper explanation and exposition of the Scriptures, and as such always aim to confess the truth found therein.
  1. There is one God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  2. All things were made by God and all humanity is bound to serve Him and live according to His will.
  3. Humanity was once pure and holy. God created our first parents, Adam and Eve, and God established His people in Eden in perfection and love.
  4. Adam and Eve destroyed the perfection of humanity and the world and that is why all people are born sinful and under the power of the devil.
  5. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile the fallen world to Himself through the death of Jesus on the cross.
  6. Jesus rose from the dead to give a new life to all those who will receive Him in faith.
  7. Faith is a gift of God that is given to people through the working God’s Word and Spirit.
  8. God works forgiveness of sins through the means of grace.
  9. The means of grace are: Holy Baptism, Holy Absolution, Holy Communion, and the preached Word of God.
  10. On the Last Day Jesus Christ will return to earth as judge and give eternal life to His faithful people but give eternal death to those not converted and forgiven by Him.

Lutheran Church of the Redeemer strives at all times to convey, express, and confess the truth of the Holy Scriptures. Our church exists to keep people in faith through the Word and Sacraments, and further the message of the cross through proclamation and sharing of our faith whenever possible. The members of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer are the servants of God gathered together according to His good and gracious will. We pray that God’s Will be done and the Gospel of our Lord may go into all the world.
