On Thursday, January 29th, Rachel (Goldstein) Davis came to speak with us about her mission work in Israel. Rachel serves at the TelAvivMessianicCenter, where she coordinates community programs for believers and not-yet-believers. Friends, both new and old, who come to the center always comment on how safe and welcoming it feels. As a result, amazing conversations about the Lord occur. Through these programs, Rachel is involved in evangelism, discipleship, and the spiritual growth of the body of Messiah in Israel! These are exciting times, as many are asking questions about Jesus and His love for them. On Thursday when she was here with her presentation, 16 members of LCOR and relatives of members came to hear her and asked many questions. Rachel spoke for about 2 hours, and we could see her passion and dedication toward her work of reaching out to the Jews with the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah!! If you would like to know more about what Rachel does as a missionary in Israel, there is a blue pamphlet in the narthex titled “Chosen People Ministries.” They ask for prayers. (Never underestimate the power of prayer!) The pamphlet describes other opportunities for you to get directly involved with reaching Jewish people. Included is a white slip to be filled out and mailed if you are interested in receiving their newsletter. On the white slip is also information for those who are interested in contributing a monetary gift toward supporting the Chosen People Ministries’ evangelistic outreach. Lutheran Church of the Redeemer was blessed to have Rachel Davis,a missionary in Israel, speak with members of Redeemer and others who joined us for conversation. Rachel is the daughter of a converted Jewish man. She spoke to us about the different kinds of Judaism and how resistant some groups are as well as how readily other groups  are to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Hebrew Scriptures are the heart of evangelism to the Jewish people, just as they are the heart of our Lord came to do. We are very thankful for this fruitful discussion and we continue to pray for the mission to the lost.
